COVID 19 Updates and FORMs

Orthodontic treatment in the Era of COVID 19 has brought new procedures and requirements.  Two additional forms will need to be signed prior to proceeding with orthodontic care. These forms can be downloaded below.

Visiting Our Office Changes.

SOTA Orthodontics has a state-of-the-art facility, complete with digital x-ray and imaging equipment and an autoclave sterilization system that cleans dental instruments to meet surgical standards.    While these standards will kill all viruses and bacteria, special considerations have been made to help prevent virus transmission of COVID 19.

• Arrival and Dismissal of Patients

Parents and family members please wait in cars. Patients only should enter the building unless special circumstances exist. If you need to talk with staff or the doctor, please call to make arrangements. Please schedule next appointments by telephone. Or, patients can schedule at the chair as is usually done.

• Patients Only in Treatment Area

Patients only in the treatment area unless special circumstances exist.

• Tooth Brush Station

Please brush well at home prior to coming to your visit. The tooth brush station is closed until further notice.

• Clothing Changes

Staff and doctors will be wearing different clothing as recommended by national and local authorities.

• Employee Logging

All employees will be monitoring their health daily to insure a safe environment for all.

• Aerosol Control

COVID 19 can be transmitted via aerosol. We are adding several methods to help clean the air. Air suction around the mouth will be run during any aerosol producing procedures like broken brackets and will create some additional noise. During debond procedures a special virus filtering vacuum will be used that will also increase the noise level a little. You can bring headphones at your debond appointment to make the process more enjoyable. We also have UV lamps placed around the office to help sterilize the air. These UV lamps have similar effects as sunshine. So, bring a towel and we will pretend we are at the beach.
